the adoration

When you saw my hips glide like a kite in the wind,

like a leaf in a hurricane,

you must have known that you had met your match,

your eyes roamed and took it all in

the hips, the legs that went on and on,

I knew that you were right

that my hips never lied

and when they swung  it was always a home run,

so do not deceive yourself by lowering your eyes to the beer stained floor,

glazing over the abandoned beer cans

the plastic cups marked by greedy lips as they sipped the rays of sunlight,

you must have known

that is why you shouted

Amen.
